DARION ADAMS

"Art knows no boundaries, and neither do I. I am a tapestry of passions, a symphony of talents, and an endless canvas of possibilities."

Featuring Darion Adams

a compilation of places, people and things

"Darion has a way of holding space that feels both powerful and tender. Their workshops were some of the only spaces where I felt safe to move, reflect, and just be myself. I left every session feeling more grounded in my body and more connected to the people around me."

Workshop Participant, AIM Saturday workshops

"Watching Darion perform is like watching a story rise from the earth. Their movement is intentional, honest, and rooted in deep ancestral memory. Collaborating with them challenged me to think differently about what performance can do."

— Crystal Finck, Artist & Collaborator

"Darion is one of the most thoughtful and effective project managers I’ve worked with. From curating community screenings to coordinating multi-venue festivals, they bring care, clarity, and deep cultural awareness to every detail."
— Nadine McKenzie, Director – Unmute Dance Company

On this suncloud episode, Tebogo Rulashe from Postmasburg Northern Cape interviews Darion Adams, Darion shares what freedom means as a queer living in South Africa. They talk about the importance of having the guts and the audacity to have a strong sense of self by unlearning cultural or religious conditions that have tainted the many ways that could have made it possible for all queer individuals to grow and be themselves fully and freely so.
They also mention how much freedom there would be if love, equality and choice was consistently educated in the early stages of learning in schools.
